Though artificial intelligence and human creativity are related in a broad sense, there is currently little crossover between the two.
One of my major software projects deals with exploring each and trying to find the connections. The unique process behind all my work is similar. I create paintings with the aid of computers, robots, and machines.

R2D2 painting in Progress – 4′x2′   (09.22.2011)

I don’t usually show paintings in progress, but I have a soft spot for R2D2 paintings. They always come out good. If you want to imagine what this will look like when its done, imagine another 18 tiles in the blank spaces. Their colors will be blue and another color yet to be decided.

R2D2 Painting in Progress by a Robot

I put a close up of the tile that R2D2 is being painted on by my robot since it is a subtle but important detail. Those are prints I made a couple years back of atomic particles colliding at Fermi Labs.

Like all my work, you can purchase this at my online store – well when it is done anyways…

Ferrari Formula One – A Second Rendition   (09.20.2011)

Ferrari Formula 1

Had a lot of fun with this Ferrari Painting. While I shy away from painting the same subject twice, the patron for this commission requested a smaller version of a painting that I had created earlier. It took a little work and several days to complete but the results came out great.

I have almost decided to make this a regular option of my paintings. I am thinking of creating master compostions on a large scale – perhaps 60″x50″, and then giving patrons the option of buying either the original compostion of which I will only make one, or commissioning a smaller made to order version of which there will be a series.

This does not take from the fact that each of my paintings are signed hand made originals. I do not have plans to mass produce anything in the future. The art for me is in creating each canvas individually.

Custom Porsche 911 Portrait   (07.28.2011)

Just completed this portrait for a patron in West Virginia. It is of the patron’s 1996 Porsche 911. The painting is versatile in that it can be hung in any of a number of configurations. I am really enjoying these car paintings so if you find that you might be interested in a portrait of your vehicle, feel free to contact me.
